The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) is a landmark law in Ontario with a powerful goal: to make the province fully accessible to people with disabilities by 2025. It applies to all levels of government, non-profits, and private sector businesses in Ontario.The law works by creating and enforcing mandatory accessibility standards in key areas of daily life. These standards are the core provisions of the act.There are five main accessibility standards, plus a set of general requirements that apply across the board.
